No idea why I’m obsessed with this, but I’ve been chomping at the bit for Resident Evil 9 for what feels like an eternity. The rumor mill’s been spinning like crazy, right? Insiders kept hinting—”this show’s the one,” they’d say. But then, crickets. Until bam! Today, out of nowhere, it hit us like a freight train.
So, I was chilling, watching the Summer Game Fest kick-off, and Capcom pops in with this quick little teaser about our favorite horror series’ next chapter. Jun Takeuchi got on screen, all causal-like, thanking the fans. He basically said, “Hey, hang tight, more juicy deets coming when we’re good and ready.” Total curveball, right? We thought they were stringing us along, but — surprise!
Out of nowhere, boom! This creepy little trailer drops. They’re calling it Resident Evil Requiem this time. Who comes up with these names? Anyway, it’s got that spooky vibe that screams Biohazard. And get this, we can actually jump into this nightmarish world on February 27, 2026. Feels like a lifetime away, but we’re used to waiting. Sort of like waiting for coffee to cool down – impatient, but you can’t rush it.
Now, Capcom’s been teasing us in sneaky little ways, too, like slipping hints into their videos. Remember when Resident Evil 4 hit that crazy 10 million sales mark? Yep, they slipped a nugget in there. Blink and you’d miss it, though.
Here’s the thing: Resident Evil 9 is being pitched as a major leap for the series. But, let’s be real, hype can exaggerate stuff. Maybe it’s not the quantum leap some forecasts predicted. Who knows? Capcom’s got this down to a science by now – it’ll deliver the horrific joyride we’ve come to crave.
Oh, and of course, there’s more to come between now and the big day. Capcom’s keeping it cryptic as always. They’re up to something, and I’m not sure what.
