So, crazy news everyone—EA’s saying goodbye to Anthem next year. Yep, pulling the plug. They wrote it up in a blog post, January 12th, 2026 is the date. Can’t buy shiny stuff anymore, but if you got those virtual coins, you can still blow ‘em.
Kind of nice though, they did give a shoutout to the fans. “Thanks for sticking around,” they pretty much said. I guess that’s something. Oh, and they’re claiming no one’s lost their gig over this. Yet. Who knows what’s really going on behind the curtain though, right?
Remember when Anthem was supposed to be the next big thing? BioWare and EA were all like, “This is gonna be HUGE.” It came out in 2019, and… well, it didn’t really catch on. Not sure why—maybe just wasn’t its time?
There was this whole drama about how it got made, too. Heard BioWare was gonna fix it up. Anthem Next was gonna be a big deal. But, plot twist: didn’t happen. They scrapped it. Anyway—oh wait, what was I saying? Oh yeah—guess we’re moving on now. Bye bye, Anthem.
