Man, so here’s the weird thing about Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile — it’s getting axed from the app stores. Yup, after just a year, poof, gone. I was scrolling through Twitter or something when I stumbled upon the news. Activision blurted out this announcement on a random Friday that kinda feels like they tripped and fell into a confession. Anyway, this mobile attempt didn’t really hit the sweet spot with users. They’re pulling the plug on updates, and say goodbye to buying those shiny COD Points or Black Cell stuff. Use up what you’ve got though—no pressure.
Now, don’t freak out completely, the servers are still a thing. Weirdly, you can still cross-level with the console and PC versions. But, here’s the kicker: after May 18, 2025, it’s game over for downloading. Seriously, mark that on your calendar if you still haven’t tried it.
So Activision threw in a classic corporate “we tried our best” line. They’re still kind of celebrating themselves for making the mobile version exist, which, maybe fair enough? But yeah, mobile folks didn’t bite as hard as they hoped.
Also, they’re hinting really hard that you should jump ship to Call of Duty: Mobile. They’re even dangling some double COD Points carrot in front of players’ faces. If you’re still hanging out in Warzone Mobile, they’re all, “Hey! Come here, we got cooler stuff!” It’s nice but feels a bit like an awkwardly timed bribe.
For some reason, the whole thing fascinates me, knowing that this was once a strong contender with over 50 million eager faces pre-registered and a wild $1.4 million splurge in just four days. Yet, here we are, watching it sail into the sunset. Makes me wonder if I should bother getting emotionally invested in any mobile games anymore—talk about a fleeting romance.
Anyway, if you’re one of those diehards sticking with it till the end, make sure to switch your accounts by August 15, 2025, to grab those perks before it all collapses.
Dang, the gaming world moves fast, huh?
