Sure thing, here goes:

Alright, so, you ever just order something expecting the whole shebang only to find out there’s almost nothing there? Yeah, that’s kinda what’s happening with “Doom: The Dark Ages.” People were all ready to pop that disc in, only to discover — surprise! — it’s got just like, maybe two or three songs’ worth of data on it. Seriously, what’s the point of a disc then, right? It means players have to download a whopping 85 GB to get the game going. Imagine waiting with slow internet. Painful.
Some folks, understandably ticked off, canceled their pre-orders and went on a social media crusade about it. And guess what? It might just hit sales hard, or not. Who knows. Doom fans seem quite particular, maybe a bit too particular — no offense if you’re one. This whole drama is over the game being a prequel to the 2016 hit, diving into the backstory of the Doom Slayer (because clearly, we needed to know more about his eternal war with demons). And, oh! New weapons like a Shield Saw and something called the Reaver Chainshot. Sounds dangerous. Plus, there’s this cosmic realm to explore — very Lovecraftian, whatever that means.
Players who splurged for the Premium version are already hacking and slashing their way through it. But the rest of us ordinary folks have to wait until Wednesday, May 14th, which is a bit inconvenient if you’ve got plans. Why always a Wednesday?
Now, in the spirit of randomness — did you know there’s a special Doom pizza skin thingy happening? Yeah, buy a pizza, get a skin. Crossovers these days, right? I’m tempted, because, pizza.
Anyway — no, wait — so, back to this disc thing. A Twitter user, DoesItPlay1 (cool name) said some fans are ditching their pre-orders because having a giant download just to play is sort of a dealbreaker. Bethesda’s hopping on this trend where they’re like, “Here’s a disc, but you gotta download everything. Good luck!” And, well, that’s irking collectors who want something tangible. I mean, remember cartridges? Those were the days.
Despite all this chaos, reviews are mostly giving it thumbs up. But if this whole download issue blows up more, who knows how that’ll change? Only time will tell.
And that’s the news, or a rant, or whatever you call this.
