Woah, okay, so here’s the deal with this new Xbox update, or whatever they’re calling it. If you’re part of the Xbox Insiders gang (lucky you, right?), you might start seeing some new things popping up on your Home screen when you fire it up. Changes. Customization. Personalization. All those -ation words that mean you can make it look a little more like yours and less like everyone else’s. I mean, that’s kinda cool, if you’re into that sort of thing.
What’s Going On?
Alright, so you’ve got this list of games and apps you’ve played recently – y’know, the ones you might kinda want quick access to but also might never look at again. Anyway, this list is getting a makeover with three shiny new settings. Apparently, they’re all about giving you the power, or at least the illusion of power over what’s on your screen.
First off, you can hide those pesky system apps. Like, who needs to see stuff you never use right? Clear the clutter. Make space for the good stuff, the things that make you happy, or at least marginally entertained after a long day.
Then there’s this pinning thing. If you’re super into a game (or maybe a couple), you can pin it. Like, literally pin your top three games right there at the front, so you don’t have to scroll forever. Handy? Maybe.
Oh, and coming soon – drumroll, please – is the ability to cut down on the number of tiles. Yes, tiles. Do you like things simple and neat? Then this might just be for you, whenever it decides to show up.
Why Bother?
In case you didn’t know, they actually listen to the feedback. Yes, actual human feedback – not just algorithmic nonsense. So these tweaks are their response. They want you to feel like Home is, well, home. Less of the clutter, more of the good vibes, and all that jazz.
You can throw your two cents in too. Vent, praise, whatever. They say they’re listening, so maybe it’ll make a difference. Head over to the Xbox Insiders subreddit and join the chaos.
