Okay, so Yuji Horii. Honestly, one of those people who just can’t keep things under wraps. And really, should we expect him to? His whole deal is kinda spilling beans, and then acting like maybe he didn’t. The guy from the “Dream Team” behind that epic RPG, Chrono Trigger. Yeah, he basically let it slip that something special’s coming for the 30th anniversary. A remake, maybe? Whoa, right?
So, picture this: Comic con vibe, Napoli, Italy. Fans everywhere. Horii’s on stage, chatting with the crowd. Out of nowhere, he casually drops a hint about a Chrono Trigger remake. The crowd’s buzzing, someone’s like, “Wait, did he just say that?” And then, classic Horii — covers his mouth, and the translator jumps in with, “Oh, you heard nothing.” Cue the audience going wild. Like, super wild.
But here’s the thing — this isn’t exactly new for Horii. I mean, back in 2015, he’s kinda notorious for spilling similar stuff. That July, he just throws out that the 3DS versions of Dragon Quest VII and VIII were coming. They’d been out in Japan forever. And he even blurts out that Dragon Quest XI would hit the NX. Spoiler: That’s the Switch, folks. It was supposed to be a secret for PS4 and 3DS fans. And yet, here we were.
Fast forward to March 11. The big three-oh for Chrono Trigger in Japan. Square Enix teases more anniversary fun, being all mysterious and whatnot. But typical, right? Keeping us on edge without telling the full story. And seriously, can you blame them? Anyway—wait, did I just drift off there? Point is, stay tuned. Chrono Trigger fans, you might get a surprise. Or maybe not. But probably, yeah.
