Oof, where do I even begin? THQ Nordic’s 2025 Showcase just wrapped up, and wow, there’s a lot happening. Maybe too much to handle all at once. Anyway, let’s dive into it — if I remember everything correctly.
So, first up, Tarsier. These folks, known for spooking us with Little Nightmares I & II, are at it again with a game they’re calling Reanimal. I caught a glimpse of the trailer and, honestly, it gave me chills. There are new environments and characters, including some creepy monsters and unlikely allies. It’s all about these orphaned siblings trying to survive a hellish landscape. Multiplayer modes are a thing too—both online and couch co-op. Because who wouldn’t want to scream to their heart’s content with a pal by their side? Or maybe a stranger, who knows. Either way, it sounds wild.
Okay, now switching gears—pun totally intended. SpongeBob? Yeah, he’s back too with SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide. This one’s all set to release on the PS5 come November 18. What’s that? Yep, you can switch between SpongeBob and Patrick, which fans have apparently been begging for. And there’s DLC—Natural Costume free with pre-order. The Ghostly Digital Edition sounds tempting with the Tidal Season pass. But, if you’re a physical collector like yours truly, some exclusive stuff is available in stores. Steelbooks are life, right? Or is that just me?
Now, Gothic fans, here’s a throwback for you. They’re doing a Gothic 1 Remake, and it seems like Alkimia Interactive is pouring all their love and passion into this thing. The demo’s out now, so you can jump into the Valley of the Mines today, if you’re feeling brave. They’ve assured no spoilers—thank goodness—and this demo won’t be in the final game. Also, mark your calendars for 2026; Gothic Classics 1, 2, and 3 will grace the PS5 then.
Suddenly, we’re pivoting—you still with me? Eternal Life of Goldman emerged with a trailer that’s a blend of vibrant and dark hues. It’s this platformer requiring precision, yet encouraging players to explore. There’s something about its stark contrasts, a world filled with rich characters and layers of story. It demands to be explored, apparently.
Oh, and Tides of Tomorrow by Digixart—those geniuses behind Route 96. They’ve revealed this asynchronous gameplay thingy, promising storytelling and collaboration like never before. It’s set in a colorful, post-apocalyptic world where your choices supposedly matter. Does it really, though? Guess only time will tell.
And Wreckfest—man, can’t forget this one. BugBear Entertainment is bringing us Wreckfest 2 on the PS5, 2026. It’s a demolition derby/racing combo, no-rules engagement. Stress relief game of the century—if stress relief means smashing into things, which it does, for me.
Also coming (still with me here?) is Titan Quest II. Imagine merging hack-n-slash adventures with mythological settings. This game offers a class-less system, so mix and match abilities to craft your hero. Sounds daunting but intriguing. It’s the stuff of legends—or it wants to be.
Finally, Wreckreation. Feeling nostalgic for Burnout? They’ve thrown customization and racing into a big open world here. Over 60 vehicles and a Game DJ to twist and turn your in-game experience. Want to race over a dinosaur? Yep, totally doable. And switching to build mode on-the-go? Might end up constructing your wildest dreams—if that includes ridiculous jumps.
Okay, whew! That was, uh, a lot to unpack. And these games will be playable soon enough at Gamescom. Excited? Confused? Maybe a bit of both? Same here. Don’t worry, we’ll manage to wrap our heads around it eventually—or maybe not.
