So, the folks over at FromSoftware, you know, the geniuses behind Elden Ring Nightreign—man, that game’s got some real traction—decided to throw us a bone. Well, sorta. They promised this whole duos thingy, and something about “amped-up fights against Nightlords.” Yeah, still waiting on the duos, but guess what? The first of those nifty boss fights just popped up. No memo, no heads-up. Just—bam—it’s there.
Anyway, late yesterday—while I was probably doing absolutely nothing useful—players stumbled on this first enhanced boss. FromSoft sorta mumbled on their blog, saying these souped-up Nightlords are now called Everdark Sovereigns. I mean, sounds cooler, right? These bosses are supposed to be way tougher. Like, turning the heat up on an oven you didn’t even know was already on.
Here’s the catch: a new Everdark Sovereign rotates weekly. But—oh wait—you can only face one if you’ve already beaten its basic version. Sneaky, right? Right now, Sovereign of Gaping Jaws (Adel) is the big bad, then there’s Sentient Pest next week, and after that, Darkdrift Knight. The developers are cooking up more Sovereigns, like Tricephalos and Equilibrious Beast. Honestly, who comes up with these names?
Oh, and there’s this NPC—groovy little addition. You beat a Sovereign, you get these Sovereign Sigils. Trade ‘em in for awesome relics and goodies. And a neat thing? Beat a boss for the first time, and bam, bonus sigils. Same NPC lets you tweak Nightreign’s Shifting Earth. Need sigils for that too, so, not a get-out-of-boss-fighting-free card.
Players are sure to uncover more chaos—but that’s part of the fun, right? If you haven’t tackled these Nightlords yet, check out our weaknesses guide. Trust me, you’ll want to be geared up. And if you get stuck, our Elden Ring Nightreign guide’s got your back.
