Minisforum recently unveiled its exciting lineup of next-gen products powered by AMD Ryzen. Among the highlights are a new motherboard and Mini PC, both featuring the robust Ryzen 9 9955HX “Fire Range” CPUs.
At the “Japan IT Spring Week,” Minisforum took the opportunity to showcase its upcoming devices utilizing AMD Ryzen processors. This lineup includes MoTD (Mobile on Desktop) motherboards, small-form-factor Mini PCs, and Network Attached Storage (NAS) systems.
Starting with the Minisforum F1FGM MoTD motherboard, enthusiasts and builders alike will be pleased to see it continues the MoTD series tradition, now with some of the latest CPUs. The mATX design board boasts solid heatsink coverage across its VRM, M.2 slots, PCH, and sports an IO cover. It steps up from the BD770i and BD790i series by offering the top-tier Fire Range “Ryzen 9000HX” series CPUs.
The MoTD can be maxed out with the AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX processor, flaunting 16 cores and 32 threads based on the cutting-edge Zen 5 architecture. This powerhouse can reach boost speeds of up to 5.4 GHz and includes 64 MB of L3 cache. Though rated at a default 55W, this desktop-level mobile chip can be pushed to an impressive 160W with this motherboard, promising a high-performance experience.
Additionally, the board allows for various CPU configurations, including an “X3D” option. Cooling is efficiently handled with a cooler mounted over a vapor chamber baseplate, accommodating mobile CPUs without an IHS. The 13-Phase Duet rail design VRM employs 60A SPS power stages.
The motherboard supports four DDR5 DIMM slots in a UDIMM layout, allowing RAM capacities of up to 256 GB and speeds reaching 8000. The bundle is powered by an X870M mobile-grade chipset, closely aligned with the B850 series. Users will find two PCIe slots (5.0 x16 & 4.0 x16) and three M.2 slots, with one offering Gen5x4 speeds. It also comes with two SATA III ports and an assortment of modern IO options like USB4, 5GbE LAN, and Wi-Fi 7, alongside two handy BIOS DEBUG LEDs.
Moving onto the Minisforum MS-A2 Mini PC, this compact powerhouse uses the AMD Ryzen 9000HX “Fire Range” CPUs to build on the MS-A1 series success. These Mini PCs come with enhanced IO capabilities, including three M.2 slots (one usable as U.2), a 10 GbE LAN via an SFP+ port, and a PCIe 4.0 x8 slot suitable for low-profile cards.
The Mini PC boards differ from the MoTD, featuring two SO-DIMM slots that support up to 96 GB of RAM and speeds of 5200 MT/s. The IO offerings consist of two USB 3.2 Gen Type-C ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 2, one USB 2.0, dual 10 GbE LAN ports, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.0, alongside DP and HDMI outputs.
Finally, there’s the Strix-enhanced N5 PRO NAS, sporting up to an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU with 12 cores, 24 threads, and the Radeon 890M integrated GPU. This NAS system is designed for ease of use, featuring five 3.5-inch drive bays with tool-free setup for convenient drive management. It supports up to 48 GB of DDR5 SO-DIMMs and has a PCIe 4.0 x4 slot for video interface needs.
With each drive bay holding up to 22 TB, users can fit a vast amount of HDD space. Also included are three PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots (2x Gen4x1 and 1x Gen4x2). The interface setup features a 10 GbE and a 5 GbE Ethernet port, complemented by three USB 3.2 Gen1 ports.
Minisforum intends to launch these innovative solutions in the coming months. Stay updated for more details as they become available.
