We’re excited beyond measure here at San Diego Studio as we unveil MLB The Show 25, set for release on March 18. As we mark the 20th anniversary of The Show, we’re doubling down on the excitement of beloved modes like Road To The Show and rolling out a brand-new feature in Diamond Dynasty called Diamond Quest. And like always, enhancing gameplay remains at the heart of everything we do.
Road To The Show
Kick off your Road To The Show adventure by playing a couple of high school games before progressing to a trio or so of college games during The Amateur Years. Create the player you envision with an updated attribute progression system that gives you more control over your development, including the ability to craft Perks to suit your style. Experience the authentic soundscape of high school and college with the distinctive clank of metal bats and the rattle of chain link fences. Fresh Impact Plays and Quick Time Events enrich RTTS/Player Lock across all positions, including baserunners.
Franchise
This year’s Franchise mode comes with high stakes, where decisions have weight, consequences are real, and timing is everything. A reinvigorated Free Agency system injects strategy and excitement into the race to sign top free agents each offseason.
Expanded Diamond Dynasty and More
Say goodbye to Sets and Seasons in MLB The Show 25. Diamond Dynasty introduces two innovative arenas to spice up gameplay: Diamond Quest with its thrill-seeking, board game-like maneuvers, and Weekend Classic—a competitive multiplayer experience awarding some of the finest rewards. Fans can look forward to ample opportunities throughout the year to snag top-tier rewards in their preferred modes. New Team Affinity Programs will allow fans to unlock exclusive items and players linked to their favorite MLB teams.
Gameplay Improvements and Expansion with ShowTech
Prepare for a wave of realism with hundreds of fresh animations, from thrilling Rob HRs to exceptional on-the-run catches and tags. The newly introduced G.O.A.T. difficulty level promises an ultimate challenge, while "ambush hitting" brings a more authentic hitting strategy to the plate. Additionally, a new Reaction Time System on defense heightens the gameplay experience.
Storylines Presents The Negro Leagues Season 3
Immerse yourself in the storied past of baseball with Storylines—step into the shoes of iconic and overlooked legends of the Negro Leagues and discover their remarkable journeys. Season 3 of Storylines, narrated by Bob Kendrick, president of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, will feature a fresh lineup of unforgettable players.
The Gameplay Trailer is brimming with exciting new features, beloved modes updated for peak enjoyment, and the introduction of three new Legends. Missed anything? Don’t worry—we’ve got plenty to share.
Look out for an all-new Feature Deep Dive video series hosted by Robert Flores from MLB Network, commencing next Tuesday, February 11th. This series will delve deeply into gameplay changes, including a closer examination of Ambush Hitting. That’s merely the beginning. Every Thursday, Feature Premieres will return, offering insights straight from the San Diego Studio development team. Catch all the in-depth breakdowns of fresh modes and updates on Twitch and YouTube as MLB The Show 25 prepares to dazzle.
