NVIDIA and AMD are gearing up to introduce their more affordable GPUs next month, competing fiercely to lead the mainstream GPU market.
## NVIDIA and AMD Ready to Take on the Mid-Range GPU Market with RTX 5060 and RX 9060 XT
For those who shop in the low-to-mid-tier GPU bracket, the selection has been limited. NVIDIA’s latest generation has been plagued by low stock levels, causing prices to skyrocket above their recommended retail prices. Similarly, AMD’s RX 9070 series has seen such high demand that getting one at its intended price is rare. However, it looks like both companies are preparing to address this shortage. According to Benchlife, we might see new releases from NVIDIA and AMD in May.
Starting with NVIDIA, it’s expected that the GeForce RTX 5060 will hit the shelves by May 19. It comes with an 8 GB GDDR7 VRAM, operating at 28 Gbps on a 128-bit memory bus. The RTX 5060 will also see a slight bump in power consumption compared to its predecessor, the RTX 4060, with a 35W increase. Here’s how the new RTX 5060 stacks up against its previous iteration:
– 25% increase in CUDA cores
– Same memory capacity
– Faster GDDR7 Memory (28 Gbps)
– Enhanced bandwidth (+64%)
– 30% higher power rating
Meanwhile, AMD fans can look forward to the Radeon RX 9060 XT, which is anticipated to be revealed at Computex on May 21, although it may not reach retail until June. It will feature the Navi 44 die on a 128-bit interface with options for 8GB or 16GB configurations, much like NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 Ti. The RX 9060 XT will have 2,048 SPs, half of what the Radeon RX 9070 XT boasts, with game clocks at 2620 MHz and boost clocks reaching 3230 MHz. It promises powerful performance for 1080p and 2K gaming.
We’ll be on the ground at Computex 2025, covering these releases live and providing early insights if possible. It’s clear that the battle for supremacy in the mid-range GPU market is heating up, making May an exciting month for gamers everywhere.
