Are you eager to finally get your hands on Dune Awakening after all the buzz? Well, good news! You’ll soon have the chance to dive in with a free open beta weekend kicking off on May 9 and wrapping up on May 12.
To snag access, you can either wishlist the game before May 9 for a shot at playing or grab one of the “thousands” of beta codes the team will be handing out over the weekend. So, while it’s open, you’ll still need a bit of luck to jump in. Think of it as semi-open—just enough to let a few sneak through.
Interestingly, this beta arrives just days before the original launch date of May 15, which has been delayed. Funcom decided to take some extra time to ensure everything is polished for the big release.
In this beta, players will explore the first two regions, offering about 20 hours of gameplay if you dig deeply. You’ll get the chance to check out several Research Facilities, test early abilities for various classes, and engage in a bit of PvP around ship crash sites. A tasty preview of what’s to come! For those curious about our hands-on experience, we’ve released a new preview today that delves into this portion of the game.
