Man, so HoYoverse just threw a curveball in the Genshin Impact 5.8 livestream with this new elemental reaction. I mean, finally giving some love to Electro-Charged. Like, what’s up with that? Seems like it might actually make a character like Ororon—a name you might not have heard in a while—worth using. Weird, right?
Alright, so get this: the new reaction’s called Lunar-Charged. And for now, you only get it in version 5.8, with Ineffa, the fresh 5-star Electro character. Yeah, Ineffa. When someone throws out Electro-Charged, which is basically when Hydro and Electro get all romantic, her talent flips it into Lunar-Charged. HoYoverse describes it like this — you get a cloud dealing Electro damage to those messed up by Electro or Hydro. And, whoa, critical hits are a thing here. Ineffa pumps up the damage based on her attack stat, which kind of makes her a big deal.
Oh, and she’s the first Nod-Krai character. Nod-Krai, that’s the next hangout spot for the Traveler. After the 5.8 update, of course. Will Lunar-Charged stick around in Nod-Krai as a permanent gig? No one really knows. But hey, judging by their track record since Sumeru, it wouldn’t be shocking.
I saw this cool key art (I couldn’t resist — art nerd alert) and it kind of pulls you right into the mood. Anyway — wait, did I say that already? — Lunar-Charged feels like a breath of fresh air for this once-neglected Electro-Charged reaction. Let’s face it, burning got that burgeon upgrade, and without someone like Navia, crystallize is, well… still meh.
Ineffa’s the single shiny new face in Genshin 5.8. Her banner makes its grand entrance when the update drops on July 30, 2025. Mark your calendars, y’all.
